Alderley Edge Copper Mines

We joined the DCC on an open day trip into the copper mines. First we went down Wood Mine with Lauren, Scott, Anton and Gina. We went to Sand Cavern and explored several passages: the Wiggly Worm, Superman, Birthday Chamber and the Crocodile.
Back at Sand Cavern we joined Joel, with his girlfriend and sister to make the boat trip to Engine Vein. When we got to the deep water, the boat wasn’t there, so Joel and I waded all the way to get it, then brought it back, not paddling, just pushing off the sides. Once into Engine Vein we ascended the Blue Shaft, which was very colourful, then exited into a rainy afternoon, much of which was spent at the most excellent Wizard Inn.
