    Wednesday 1st of June

Poor old Don, just back from Ireland, barely slept for days. We went up to GG for some of the old in-out, in-out, in-out.

First down Stile. There was a terrifyingly large loose block at the top. Can’t believe something so big and loose could have been in a place that so many people must have passed. Almost fell on Don’s head, but I caught it and threw it onto the grass. Like Hercules, or Obelix.

At the top of the big pitch in Bar Pot we went up the handline climb and through the crawl into Flood. Only took us a few minutes. Easy. Better than escorting a dominatrix out from there. Down the big pitch in Flood and out Small Mammal.

Then across to Stream Passage for our second in-out of the day. No one else in the cave so we were quick. We didn’t even bother to visit the main chamber, just up and down, up and down, up and down. The very kind BPC members at the winch made us a brew, different group of people from the ones we saw on Saturday. Good and bad in all clubs I suppose.

I’d left my bag at the top of the big pitch in Flood. I left it there on purpose, so we had to go back down Flood. Don went back out of Flood, I went down the big pitch, then out Bar Pot. Sixteen minutes from the bottom of the big pitch to the surface. Anyone could do that though.

When I came into work today someone told me that I would need to move out of my current office and into a different office on the floor below before tomorrow morning, which entails me boxing up and shifting roughly 400 books by myself. I have a feeling I’m going to be in a wheelchair by the end of the day.

I suppose it’s all worth it considering the mega-fantastic super-duper awesome trip we did yesterday. If my calculations are correct we descended and ascended roughly 1000 feet of rope. Awesomeness has to be quantified, as we all know.
