Website - Technical Information:
This page tries to give some information as to how it was created and how it should work, but I'm not guaranteeing anything!!
As of November 2005 the website has been placed on better servers, so we have access to more features and a lot more space. This has resulted in improved member login section and vastly improved members area, plus various other minor improvements.
This present incarnation of the website has not been tested on a full range of browsers as yet, the only browser it is known to function correctly on is Internet Explorer, any further testing carried out will be added here at a later date.
Browser Compatibility
- Unfortunately we do not have the time to check and test every browser available.. We do try to make sure it is compatible on the common browsers. If
anyone uses this site and finds an issue with their browser please get in touch and provide details of your browser, the page you were trying to view etc.
- Internet Explorer - the main browser for testing the website, everything works as intended. (For the past 3 years Internet Explorer has been by far the most popular used browsers to view this website
according to our stats.)
- Mozilla Firefox, Opera and others - Not tested recently but when last tested, everything was ok.
HTML Compliance and Cascading Style Sheet information
- Some of the web pages have been checked using a html validator and most now come close to complying with normal standards . It does not comply to html4 strict standards at w3.org validator.
Almost all html tags that were deprecated in html4 have now been removed and replaced with style sheets etc (some are still used, slapped wrist, but it's just convenience!)
- CSS is used on this website on all pages and whilst probably doesn't conform to strict standards it generally seems to works well on most browsers.
Javascript information
- Javascript is used on this website for numerous purposes (it is used less now than it used to be due to gaining php)..
- The few email addresses that are displayed are done so using javascript along with some ascii encoding to avoid some spambots, basic but helpful protection against the email harvesters.
Software Used
- AceExpert and Frontpage for the creation of webpages and style sheets
- CSE HTML Validator Pro to check all webpages for errors and basic html standards
- Interent Explorer, Opera and Mozilla Firefox for checking the site on different browsers to ensure as much compatibility as possible

- Website Resources - too many to list, CSS based sites have been commonly visited! For the future PHP, ASP and CGI resources will be looked into!
