An evening trip down Gavel, we’d both been before but we’re tempted back by shiny new things. A short extension had recently been made off Glasfurds, so off we went, down the eye hole route and down into the streamway. Time makes you forget that, actually, this in itself is a nice stretch of passage. Onwards to Glasfurds, worth a detour to admire the pretties then into the new stuff. Very impressive trench and stacking and you pop out in Echo Chamber. Wow. Very careful progress was made to the end in this fantastic piece of passage. I just hope all visitors do exercise huge amounts of caution as there are some very vulnerable formations.
